Canadian Education System

Canada's education system is managed independently by each province but maintains consistent national standards. Higher education includes universities, colleges, and graduate schools. Universities offer bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. Bachelor's programs typically last 4 years, master's 1-2 years, and doctoral 3-5 years. Colleges provide vocational training and diploma programs. Canada follows a semester system, with two or three semesters per year. The curriculum is practical and focuses on developing students' employability.

Graduate Visa Policy

Canada offers the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), allowing international students to work in Canada after graduation. The PGWP duration depends on the length of study: programs lasting 8 months to 2 years qualify for a 1-3 year work permit, while programs over 2 years qualify for a 3-year work permit. PGWP holders can work in any type of job without employer sponsorship. After one year of work under PGWP, graduates can apply for permanent residence (PR) through the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) or other provincial nominee programs.
